My role is to work on the Regional Voices project Stronger Connections for Better Health. I co-ordinate and support the activities of the Regional Health Co-ordinators within the nine English regions. This work supports voluntary and community organisations throughout the country to understand, influence and engage with the changes to health and social care. I'm working two days a week (normally Mondays and Tuesdays) until September 2012.
I have been supporting voluntary and community organisations for over 20 years in various capacities: as a trustee, volunteer, manager and development worker. For the past 12 years, I have been working freelance as a trainer and management consultant, running leadership programmes and supporting community organisations to manage change.
I will be combining the Regional Voices role with my freelance training and part-time work as a lecturer in housing policy at the Centre for the Built Environment, LeedsMetropolitanUniversity.
In my spare time I support my teenage children, work as a Quaker Chaplain at YorkUniversity and recycle old materials into crafts.
