Find out what major organisations are doing about equality in Yorkshire & Humber and influence practice and policy
Involve’s policy conference 2013 is about health and equality and the vital role of voluntary and community organisations.
The Government talks about equality and it is high on the health agenda, but is social mobility stuck? How can good intentions be turned into improved equality in health and wellbeing?
The conference brings together people who are central to health and wellbeing to debate and discuss how we can all make equality a reality.
"Austerity measures hitting women hardest" reports the Guardian.
Keynote Speakers
We are delighted to announce three high level, influential speakers. All bring experience, understanding and inspiration.
- Duncan Selbie is the Chief Executive of the newly created Public Health England. With a range of experience in the Department of Health and the NHS, Duncan says “It would take the statutory public health system 10 years to have a fraction of their (ie the voluntary sector) impact and reach”
- Evelyn Asante-Mensah has over 20 years experience of tackling inequalities and promoting equality within local communities, the BHA and the NW Development Agency. She is also currently a Commissioner with the Equalities and Human Rights Commission.
- James Plunkett is the Director of Policy and Development at the Resolution Foundation which is a think tank working to improve the lives of people on low pay. James’ recent work includes research on female employment and the minimum wage
