Involve Yorkshire & Humber is facilitating the Learning and Skills Voluntary and Community Sector Network (LVSN)
This new Network is specifically for voluntary organisations with an interest in learning and skills - whether as a deliverer, user, or promoter of education and skills training for adults in FE, Adult and Community Learning, or for organisations where learning is just part of what they offer.
The Network (LSVN) is gathering impetus - we are collectively charting the way forward for our sector in a difficult environment.
Every meeting has an opportunity for members' own views to be aired and channelled - this is a great time to find out common issues and deciding on courses of action.
The next network meeting will be at 9.30-12.00 on Thursday 29 March 2012 at St George’s Centre, Leeds, LS1 3BR.
To provide a forum and network for VCS providers of learning and skills to share good practice and enable development of effective and flexible provision.
To promote and develop partnership working with FE colleges.
To be able to respond well to future Skills Funding Agency (SFA) funding changes.
To promote and embed new apprenticeship frameworks from Skills - Third Sector.
To further develop the quality, variety, effectiveness and sustainability of VCS provision in Yorkshire and Humber.
We will send members automatic invitations to Network events, usually held in Leeds, where speakers from key organisations in the VCS learning landscape can be heard and challenged, and members have an opportunity to air and discuss the issues affecting them.
Membership is free for the time being. (A charge may be introduced from November 2011, but you will not commit yourself to paying anything by joining now).
