Mark Burns-Williamson the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire is looking for third sector advocates for his Partnership Executive Group (PEG); and his Domestic Abuse Board (DAB). These are exciting opportunities to help shape the direction of the PCC’s strategy to promote safer communities, and to gain experience of working at a strategic level across West Yorkshire, at a time a great challenges, opportunities and changes.

PEG: The PEG was established shortly after Mark was elected as PCC in November 2012 and has been meeting quarterly since then. It includes the senior leaders of the criminal justice system in West Yorkshire, and other public services such as the Councils and NHS.
DAB: At the Community Safety Partnership Forum (CSPF) members agreed need to develop a West Yorkshire Domestic Abuse Board with the aim of taking forward the recommendations from a review of services, and also as a catalyst for linking different developments at the West Yorkshire level. The first meeting took place in September 2015.

The positions of advocates are essentially unpaid and voluntary in nature, but reasonable out of pocket expenses e.g. travel within West Yorkshire can be met. The term of office will initially be 12 months but can be renewed.
