At Involve’s conference last year we set up Action Trackers to look at how welfare reform is impacting on the work of the voluntary sector and what actions it is taking.
Since then we have done work on localising the Community Charge across the region and run a Survey about the sector’s experience of welfare changes.
We had an exceptionally high return of the Survey indicating how important the impact of welfare reform is to the work of voluntary and community organisations.
We are now writing up the Survey and doing some specific case studies to investigate some critical issues in more depth. In addition, we are working on some of the impacts of changes such as the localising of the social fund in different parts of the region.
We intend to publicise the results of this work just after the summer and then do a follow up Survey. All the results will be on our website.
Please contact Helen Robinson, Communications and Marketing Manager at Involve for more information or if you can contribute your own experience.
